Senior Assisted Transportation Services
through August 31, 2026
Our Senior Assisted Transportation Service (SATS) has been around for over 35 years. This service provides door to door transportation for those over the age of 60, as well as those with disabilities and others between the ages of 18 and 59. In fiscal year 2026, we provided nearly 11,000 rides to important medical, social, and personal destinations. Each of these rides allowed individuals without access to transportation to remain independent in their own homes, for as long as feasibly possible. Indeed, this program helps approximately 1,000 people a month in a city without public transportation, a circumstance which makes this service even more important.
The SATS program helps so many people, including those who no longer feel comfortable or are unable to drive, and those who do not have access to a vehicle or funds available for the increasing costs of fuel. Individuals over the age of 60 ride on a donation only basis, to ensure that the availability of their funds does not restrict access to nutrition, medical, and social events.
We strive to meet the growing needs and expectations of our patrons even as we face limited grant avenues and concurrent rises in costs. The help and support of our community is vital to ensure that all of our neighbors have the freedom and ability to get supplies, attend important appointments, and have a way to ensure their social needs are being met.
