Exercise Room - Too Fit to Quit!
A variety of weights and exercise equipment is available at the Eppson Center Mondays through Fridays, from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm. Orientation is required prior to using the equipment. For more information about orientation, contact Angie at (307) 745-5116 ext. 114.
Hiking Group - Seniors on the Go
The Seniors on the Go (SOTG) hiking group travels to a different Laramie-area trail each Friday. Hikes vary in length and difficulty, so please check the individual hike descriptions, which are available by clicking here or with the Center to ensure it is a correct fit.
A signed waiver is required to participate. Waivers are available by clicking here or at the Eppson Center.
During the summer months, SOTG meet in the Eppson Center lobby at 8:15 am, leave at 8:30 am, and return in the early afternoon. In the Fall, SOTG meet at 8:45 am and depart from the Eppson Center around 9:00 am, returning in the early afternoon. Return times vary according to the type of hike.
Line Dancing
Line dancing is a great way to incorporate more movement into our lives, by combining basic sequences of steps into synchronized, rhythmic patterns. For beginner to more experienced dancers, the Eppson Center offers line dancing on site, four times a week, in the East Wing. Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays from 9:00 - 10:00 am, with Level 1 line dancing held on Wednesdays from 9:00 - 10:00 am.
Senior Boot Camp
Join us for an energizing circuit-style workout designed to improve cardiovascular fitness and build strength. You will move though a series of timed stations with exercise options for different fitness levels, and chair support is available. This class is a great way to stay active, challenge yourself, and enjoy moving with others.Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:30 - 11:30 am.
Swim Aerobics
Every day at the Laramie Recreation Center from 6:00 - 7:15 am.
Tai Chi
Led by Angie, the Eppson Center's Activities Director, Tai Chi offers a movement-based for of meditation that helps improve balance and flexibility, meaning greater independence. This activity will return soon!
Tri Shaw Rides
Tri Shaw rides offer opportunities for everyone, especially those with limited mobility, to enjoy outdoor adventures. Currently scheduled rides will take place August 10th and 24th, with rides available at 9:30 am and 10:30 am. Prior registration is required, please contact us at activities@eppsoncenter.com or at (307) 745-5116 for more information.
Walking
Walking is an ideal way to promote the benefits of movement - physical, mental, and emotional well being. Whether you walk inside or out, alone or in a group, the Eppson Center wants to know! Each time you sign in and walk at least 15 minutes, you will be entered to win a prize at the end of the month. The more walks you take, the more chances to win!
Walking Group
Led by Rebecca Evans, the Senior Walking Group explores different areas of Laramie on relatively level surfaces. During the summer, the Walking Group meets at the Eppson Center on Tuesdays at 9:00 am. During the winter, the meeting time is at 10:00 am.
Volleyball
Enjoy volleyball from the comfort of a chair! This fun and active game adapts the rules of volleyball to allow seniors to enjoy the game and maintain strength, while engaging with other members. Fridays from 12:30 - 1:30 pm in the East Wing.
Yoga
Led by our Activities Director, Angie, Chair Yoga offers a safe way to improve and maintain flexibility, especially for those with mobility limitations and balance issues. Wednesdays and Fridays from 9:00-9:30 am in the Wellness Room.
