Volunteer Opportunities

The Eppson Center greatly appreciates individual and community collaboration, and invites individuals as well as independent organizations, such as Greek Life or athletic groups, to reach out and coordinate group volunteer efforts. We are happy to help arrange single-day events, and inform you of special events.

Home Delivered Meals Driver
Home Delivered Meal (HDM) drivers deliver meals to our most vulnerable patrons once a week. This is a 60-90 minute, weekly time commitment, and the ideal volunteer would be planning to be in Laramie for the foreseeable future, as patrons rely on consistency from their drivers. Volunteers must possess a valid driver's license, car insurance, and a reliable vehicle. For specific details about this opportunity, feel free to contact Erica at (307) 745-5116 ext. 120.

Fall Prevention Instructor
We are looking for an individual to volunteer for a 1 hour shift from 10:30-11:30 on Monday, Wednesday, or Friday to teach our Fall Prevention class! This is an energetic fitness class that would be a great fit for an active individual with a background or interest in fitness.
 
Loan Closet Attendant​​
Loan Closet attendants help distribute medical and mobility equipment, check in returns, and take donations of equipment for our Loan Closet. This is a rewarding, regularly occurring opportunity with some down time. Feel free to bring a book or some homework!​​​​​​​​

Teachers and Substitutes
The Eppson Center offers daily classes to patrons, and we are always looking to add more, or get folks who are willing to serve as substitutes for our current ones. Please reach out to the Activities Department for more information on our current needs and interests.

Organizers 
If you have a knack for organization, we can use your help keeping our loan closet, greeting cards, and other areas of our Center in order. This job can be done almost anytime between our hours of 8:00 am - 4:00 pm, and is a great chance to listen to music or a podcast!

Kitchen Assistants and Dishwashers
Kitchen assistants and dishwashers are needed from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm, though we can be flexible with your schedule. Kitchen assistants may help with serving lunch, packaging our home delivered meals, and helping to keep the dining room clean. Dishwashers are needed to help maintain a supply of clean dishes for our patrons. An ideal volunteer dishwasher would be very flexible, and able to come in on short notice.

Special Event Volunteers
From major fundraiser efforts to one-off events, the Center relies on the work of volunteers to host special activities. This is an opportunity to be involved every few months, and is a great option for those with busier schedules that require plans to be made in advance.
