PLEASE, NO DUMPING! MAKE SURE YOUR DONATIONS AND RETURNS ARE ACCEPTED BY A STAFF MEMBER OR VOLUNTEER.
How it works
Donation based
Our loan closet is made up of the generous donations and returns of medical equipment from our community. The items are also handed out as-is, and may not always be up to personal standards. Inventory is always coming in and out, but we usually have most items stocked at any given time, and those that aren't often get re-stocked quickly.
No payment or ID needed
When you borrow an item from the Closet, all we need is your name and to record the items you are borrowing. There is no need for an ID or payment, though donations are always welcomed and appreciated online or at the Front Desk.
No holds
Our Closet operates on a first come, first serve basis, and we unfortunately cannot guarantee holds on items for individuals. Please stop by sooner than later if you know or think you may need an item. We'd rather you have it and not need it than the other way around!
No dumping
We greatly appreciate when borrowed items are returned to us. However, when you return an item to the Loan Closet, we require you check your item out with staff. Please do not leave equipment lying idly anywhere on our premises, even if it seems out of the way or in the correct spot.
Our Equipment
We loan out and accept donations of the following items*:
- FOLDABLE Wheelchairs
- Transport chairs
- Canes
- FOLDABLE Walkers
- Rollators
- Shower benches and stools
- Bedside commodes
- Raised toilet seats
- Depends / pads
- Grabber tools
- Knee scooters
- Crutches and forearm crutches
- Bed Rails
- Pill boxes
*Due to the volume of donations and returns we receive weekly, the Eppson Center may not be able to sanitize all equipment before loaning it back out. We encourage all those bringing in and taking out items to sanitize any and all equipment prior to donating/returning it to the Center and upon bringing it home for use.
We do NOT accept the following donated items**:
- Walkers and wheelchairs that don't fold
- Beds
- Chairs
- Clothing
- Oxygen and oxygen supplies
- Electric wheelchairs
- Specialty medical equipment (boots, slings, casts, braces, blood pressure cuffs, etc.)
- Any other fabric items (foot rests, pillows, blankets, etc.)
**If you are unsure if the Eppson Center can accept your medical supply donation, please call and ask before donating. Taking in items we are not able to store places a strain on our closet and resources. Thank you!
