Melodees directors 2015 Melodees 2015

The Melodees singing group gathers from 1:30-2:30 PM Mondays in the East Wing of the Eppson Center, from September thru May, and is open to all seniors who like to sing. The Melodees perform for civic groups, the residents of Laramie Care Center, Regency Retirement Residence, Spring Wind Assisted Living, Senior Housing, and the Ivinson Home for Ladies, as well as at many special events around town. We also sing in Centennial, WY every December for their “Christmas In Centennial” celebration.

The Melodees group was started in the early 1990s and was called the “Kitchen Bandits.”  The members went their kitchens and found pots, pans, lids, washboards, gallon jugs, anything they could find that would make a sound, to which they added their voices.  It was quite a group!  We still have one of the original members in our group today.

The “Kitchen Bandits” then became just a singing group and was renamed the Melodees.  Many people have been members throughout the years, and today we have 47 people on the roll.
