Power restored! Business as Usual!

After the terrible windstorm Tuesday that left many in town without power and gas, the Eppson Center was also left without power yesterday (Wednesday) and closed at noon while electrical crews replaced the power poles in the area and repaired broken lines.  We were notified this morning (Thursday) that power has been restored and while we may run into a few snags today, we will be open for business with all the normal activities already on today’s calendar.  Come see us!  (we are sorry many of you tried to call us – and we had no phones or internet until Thursday mid-afternoon – now that has been corrected as well!)

AmazonSmile program helps the Eppson Center

Sign up today so your regular Amazon purchases will help fund the Eppson Center for Seniors!

AmazonSmile is a website operated by Amazon with the same products, prices, and shopping features as Amazon.com. The difference is that when you shop on AmazonSmile, the AmazonSmile Foundation will donate 0.5% of the purchase price of eligible products to the charitable organization of your choice. (choose us!)

Every item available for purchase on www.amazon.com is also available on AmazonSmile (smile.amazon.com) at the same price. You will see eligible products marked “Eligible for AmazonSmile donation” on their product detail pages.

On your first visit to AmazonSmile (smile.amazon.com), you are prompted to select a charitable organization from our list of eligible organizations. You can change your selection at any time.

Dollar-a-Month Club News

Your Dollar a Month Club would like to thank everyone who donated socks to our Home Delivered Christmas Meal gift bags. They were delivered for our December 19th evening meal. They were a big success. We have some wonderful people in our Eppson Center. Thank you again.

As of January, we will have four new members to our Board of Directors. Shirley Lilley, Dicksie May, Doris Adami, and Joan Graham. We say a big thank you for agreeing to serve for the next two years.

Thank you also to continuing board members this year, Marilyn Aiken, Judy Hood, Louise Sharum, John & Deedie Swett, and Diann Ginther.

The four of us leaving are Diana Bartke, Darlene Olson, Pat Parker, and Vera Reid. Thank you to them for serving their two years.

We wish everyone a Happy New Year.

Amazing Boss

You have been an outstanding boss,

The Eppson Center senses its loss.

With dedication you did serve,

A happy retirement you deserve.

Countless issues you clearly resolved,

With your guidance, the center evolved.

You were definitely a key player,

If you’d like, you could run for mayor!

You encouraged us to succeed,

Mutual goals we worked to exceed.

Thank you for the way you did – lead,

We’ll call you, if there’s something we need!
