Thank you also to continuing board members this year, Marilyn Aiken, Judy Hood, Louise Sharum, John & Deedie Swett, and Diann Ginther.

The four of us leaving are Diana Bartke, Darlene Olson, Pat Parker, and Vera Reid. Thank you to them for serving their two years.

We wish everyone a Happy New Year.

Amazing Boss

You have been an outstanding boss,

The Eppson Center senses its loss.

With dedication you did serve,

A happy retirement you deserve.

Countless issues you clearly resolved,

With your guidance, the center evolved.

You were definitely a key player,

If you’d like, you could run for mayor!

You encouraged us to succeed,

Mutual goals we worked to exceed.

Thank you for the way you did – lead,

We’ll call you, if there’s something we need!

If you are a subscriber to the Boomerang, please fill out the Golden Ticket and bring it to the Eppson Center or the Boomerang Office. If 50 subscribers fill in the Golden Ticket with the Eppson Center as the Non Profit, the EC will receive 50% off their advertising costs printed in the Boomerang.  Thanks for your time to help the EC manage operating costs.  Bernie

Letter to the Editor

(Laramie Daily Boomerang 5/15/16)

Eppson Center offers invaluable service

I would like to extoll the programs and food at the (Eppson Center for Seniors).

Several months ago, I could not get my husband to eat at the center after we had tried three or four meals that were just seriously lacking. There is a new chef who makes delightful sauces such as plum sauce, lemon sauce with capers, and just delicious entrees.

The fruit salads are comprised of fresh fruit — not canned.

The green salads have much more than just two ingredients.

The desserts are fab and just make my husband grin. All the exercise classes are valuable to seniors, especially line dancing thanks to Treece. Not only does she exercise our legs, but also keeps our minds young by continually introducing new steps and routines.

Every Thursday, you can take watercolor classes from Jeanie Schlump, who taught art at LCCC and has shown her art at many venues. You get more than two hours on instruction and fun for only $5. What a steal of a deal.

The transportation the center provides at such reasonable prices is extremely valuable to anyone that doesn’t or cannot drive. Everyone at the center should be commended for all the work they put in and for turning the center into a place I can talk my husband into visiting and taking part in activities.
